Guidelines of the Conscious Dance Practice

All of who you are is welcome here. This is a safe space to be with and feel all that arises. Open your heart and welcome it in.
This is about really listening and following what feels good for you. My verbal cues are just suggestions, please try them on however it’s more important to
listen to your own body, heart, and spirit and how they want you to move, so if my suggestions are not resonating – just do what feels right and good.

It’s important to embrace where you are at in this moment, and that can change day to day, moment to moment. There is no need to push yourself beyond your
physical limitations, and also please don’t hold back. No need to push, no need
to hold back.

You might want to move how the music is asking you to move, however it’s more important to listen to your body and your process, and how that wants you
to move, which might be counter to the music.

Please dance/move like no one is watching, the only person that might be watching you is me and I have zero judgement of how you move. This is not
about moving in ways that are graceful or beautiful. Your body knows what it needs to do to come back to wholeness, please honour that – no matter how
you think it might look. I will be fully celebrating however you express yourself.

Please keep this co-created space sacred and confidential. Please do not share anything you experience or witness here except for your own personal experience.

Please honour your own self-authority. Go to the bathroom or drink water when you need to. No need to ask permission. I only ask that you check in first “do I
really need a drink of water? do i really need to go to the bathroom?” It might be resistance arising… and when resistance arises you might be right on the edge
of a breakthrough. So pause, check in, and if yes you do, then go ahead and take care of your bodily needs.

Do you best to be fully present on what arises in the dance, physical sensations, thoughts, emotions? Open yourself to the percentage that you can today to
commune with them. Find creative ways through movement and sound to express what is arising, even if its resistance, boredom, busy mind, frustration,
whatever it is… how can you dance and be really creatively expressive with it?

There is absolutely no right or wrong way to do this. Trust yourself and your process.

Thriving mamas podcast

Hope is a survivor of severe postpartum depression and anxiety. She didn’t find a lot of help or support for her condition in the western medical system so spent a lot of time googling and researching holistic methods of recovery and healing.

This led her to take the INNATE Postpartum Care Certification Training with Rachelle Seliga Garcia, to train with both Irene Lyon and Dr. Scott Lyons in trauma and nervous system healing, work with Belief Repatterning™ coaches, and explore many other traditional forms of healing. She is a Maternal Wellness Coach and Postpartum Care Practitioner, with a passion for deeply nurturing mothers and supporting them through hands on healing. She shares the wisdom she has discovered on her journey on her Thriving Mamas podcast.

She is also a Conscious Dance facilitator and trainer, and has merged her love Mother Circles with Conscious Movement in her signature offering MotherMovement.
